With this last week, we are going to explore how secure individuals can support the final group of fearful-avoidants.

Fearful avoidants often move in a confused state of non-commitment and clinginess. This creates confusion around them as well and one of the key ways a secure individual can help is the keep that person self-aware of how they are moving.

From the secure individual’s side of the table, it is a balance of making sure you don’t fall amiss to the confusion. Who you are is not solely dealing with the conflicting views so it is important to have self time as well.

Last week, we covered the high-level of how Skylark by definition can use gamification to drive loyalty and engagement.

This, however, is not the full story. Drilling deeper into that, we will explore going deeper. Gamification is the heart of the notion of do something, get something which is also the next wave of how loyalty is created with brands willing to reward their more engaged community members.

Today, I’d like to highlight our pillars. Gamification, Storytelling, Incentive, and data are the E2E means of creating powerful activations and unlocking value for your brand via data from start to finish.

The execution of this leads to Games as a Service.

Think about games like Fortnite, Pokemon Go, and Animal Crossing. These games have loyal communities. In our model, can we develop a game/environment of loyal users to the incentives the ecosystem provides?

The game becomes a living organism backed by

• a team of developers

• Storytelling (new content)

• incentive/reward for the paying audience.

For the players, they also benefit from :

• Gaining Rewards users for sharing better data missing from businesses

• Ability to uprank places

• Scavenger hunts

• Earn loyalty points

• Trade/sell artifacts for in-game currency

• Purchase assets at the town marketplace

• Share messages with each other

• Complete enough tasks to unlock the ability to get a passport to unlock new locations

Weekly Random Acts of Evolution

This second to last week, we are going to explore how secure individuals can support an avoidant.

The first key here is that the secure individual is in a stable place hence secure with/without the other individual. Coupling that with the ability to anticipate when their partner needs space, they can sustain balance in a relationship

The importance of space is rarely explained scientifically but in simple terms, it allows for the opportunity to create a desire for something. Too often, we lose interest once we obtain something. Hence the need to pace in order to keep building the bond. Like yeast, the attraction/rise is created at rest. The times we are not directly activating it.

This is key in the relationship between a secure and an avoidant because there is enough balance not to overbear the avoidant.

With this second to last week's post, we are going to share a quick look at the opportunity to zone for Skylark. To date, I have mentioned the platform leveraging Web 3 and AI then pivoted to a GTM strategy of businesses along urban trails however the key element that was starting to get lost was the gamification.

Skylark, by definition, means playing/fooling around. The core of businesses giving tasks for rewards in a gamified loyalty model would increase engagement around the brand and its customers.

Focusing solely on the gamification this week, here are some things I plan to drill into as this takes shape.

• Reward users for sharing better data missing from businesses

• Ability to uprank places

• Story mode

• Open-world mode - Animal Crossing-like

• Scavenger hunts

• Earn loyalty points

• Trade/sell artifacts for in-game currency

• Purchase assets at the town marketplace

• Complete tasks from Townhall, Businesses, and other places

• Share messages with each other

• Complete enough tasks to unlock the ability to get a loan to start a business and/or get a cellphone

• Complete enough tasks to unlock the ability to get a passport to unlock new locations

Over these next 3 weeks, we will be winding down Sun Rae’s. The year-long journey has been interesting for me to explore how my content can change over a year and the downstream impact on my creative side.

Wrapping up the last few weeks of exploring attachment styles, we are going to discuss how a secure individual can support their partner in a relationship. A lot of people claim to be secure but it is not until you are triggered and then you see a side of yourself that you swore you had on lock. This is the reason I spent the last few weeks highlighting the blind sides that trip you back into that loop.

Real security doesn’t get tripped back into the struggle but at the same time, secured individuals are able to notice others’ insecure attachment and not fault them for it. It doesn’t mean they encourage co-dependency but they have an understanding.

We’ll focus on the relationship between a secure and an anxious individual this week.

The anxious attachment is most obvious when their partner starts to pull away. Understanding this, a secure individual would be proactive in their communication to inform why the space is being created.

It is not solely on the secure individual but this opens the door for balancing the emotional response. From there, it would also be on the anxious individual to respect the space and derive patterns from the proactive communication.

Between Space and Time

For the last 2 weeks, I have gone down the rabbit hole of the ditch the U.S. Government has dug with the raising of interest rates and what may happen to course correct. This is not necessarily tech related but there is a case for Bitcoin so I wanted to highlight this. The Federal Reserve has raised interest rates 3-5% over the last year, consistently and incrementally month over month. Thinking the market would slowly dial in a soft landing off the run during the Pandemic without crippling the productivity of the people may not look like the case and what will the government do to put the air back into the economy. They vowed not to turn the money printers back on but these two videos highlight the crossroads we are at and why this presents an excellent case for Bitcoin.

I am not a financial advisor and this is not financial advice. Watching videos about Macroeconomics this weekend has opened my eyes to the levers that we don’t hear on a daily basis. When you realize that the nation’s debt and all the parties tied to that not falling apart, the resurgence of printing more money may not be so farfetched especially when you realize that these are people making decisions based on what has worked in the past.

We’ll see what happens over the next 14 months.

From the above, you can derive some data insights into what albums people are drawn to. This can dovetail into an opportunity to have a conversation and other downstream activations. I’ve been highlighting Skylark and this is further proof for a connected value stream to be created.

Last week, we covered the Avoidant blindspots. Along that, we have Fearful Avoidants who possess both sides of anxious and avoidant attachment styles but are triggered in and out of each style that makes them disorganized or confused. They are not necessary completely removed from the idea of emotion attachment but the sight of it can be disorienting.

This video highlights that the biggest challenge is the lack of balance and trust. Communication is also key as it allows for people/situations around you to understand the hot and cold mood swings you may move through.

That is the part that will take time because until you recognize it in yourself, how can you communicate it to someone else.

Last week, we discussed the value of the $Path token in our ecosystem. On the surface, it is no different from traditional loyalty programs but going into detail, it is important to understand how the Blockchain actually services this.

1. Consensus and Transparency are cornerstones of ensure the corresponding customer can indeed spend these points. On top of that, it can be costly to a business to manage the downsides of not being to able to identify when a reward is spent.

2. That cost is one side and there is cost with the validation itself. With on-chain data, there is less need for overhead cost on managing that.

3. Lastly, looking forward, it allows for decentralized exchange of value between parties which can allow reward holders to sell their points because at the end of the day, they are not actually moving the points, they are moving they owner of the keys associated to the points stating who can spend it (sign to trigger an transaction)

Sitting across the spectrum from us Anxious attachers are our avoidant polar opposites. We mirror each other because we can see parts of ourselves hidden in the other. We’ve explored the Anxious blindspot and this week we are exploring the Avoidant blindspot.

This video highlights that the biggest challenge for Avoidant is continuing to think their logic will save them. In fact, it creates “analysis paralysis” to the point where you can’t see a path forward to risk any action other than what you are used to.

Some vulnerability needs to happen and simultaneously you should appreciate those who are willing to embrace that part of you when the change happens.

It’s overnight and may feel disorienting to break away from logic and lean more on trust but with the right support, it will work.

The 4 F’s of trauma responses often dictate how we interact with others subconsciously whether we know it or not. We can move between all areas depending on where we are at the moment or who were are talking to. Furthermore, understanding this allows you to know you are reacting vs. instilling your own self. This is important because it helps you regulate who you are vs. how you to choose respond. Over time, the goal will be to learn how to manage oneself in different situations in order to add more tools to your response set.

Freeze and Flight are both derived from the intention to escape the situation at hand. Looking at their opposites, Flight, and Fawn are more intended to win over/ give into the situation (staying the course). Knowing this and where you are coming from, you can also use this information to identify how the other person might be triggered.

When it comes to navigating relationships, I tend to have an Anxious attachment style. As you look to learn about your attachment styles simultaneously with handling relationships, you often get conflated behaviors to see how you can win over a person instead of focusing on one’s growth.

The amount of content online dedicated to conquering one another or how to get your partner to do X can feel rather manipulative. Rather, on my journey to explore more about myself, I have now come across a channel that speaks more to my speed. Check out Heide Preibe on Youtube.

This video is an example of her content. I enjoy how she focuses on the self and gives great analogies. This has inspired a new idea for a new series on this platform and extending into the future. Over the next 5/6 years, we will be setting the stage for what will dovetail into “Creative Forma: Attachment Theory”, the use of my creative process to explore Attachment Theory. I am excited and stay tuned.

The past week was the last for the Cohort program we went through to enable Skylark. One of the key topics that came up multiple times was our GTM and addressing a niche market.

Getting a range of businesses on the platform would be a great start in order to get a range of data. This is why we have chosen “Urban Greenspace Market Spaces”

These ecosystems have a high density of traffic and promote a new mode of engagement via walkable transportation. Below are the problems we are tackling, starting here with the Beltline in Atlanta.

This GTM strategy for Skylark has now birthed a new app known as Pathsync to enable a solution by establishing strong partnerships with local businesses, we will be able to offer our customers a diversity of experiences, events, and economic value that flows bilaterally that help communities thrive.

This Urban Market ecosystem is worth over $6 billion and we are looking to penetrate it.

Weekly Random Acts of Evolution

The phrase “The ball is in your court” comes from the concept of tennis. This is important when building relationships. You volley the ball into their court and then it is their turn to volley back. Stepping on their turn takes away the natural ability for the other to respect your play and return back.

In past situations, I have always been afraid of that idle time. I know that I got going a lot and I still make time but that doesn’t give me the right to discredit what the other person has been through or is going through at the moment. It also gives optimal time for the other to take ownership in taking the next step.

This revelation has been big for me and I’ve been enjoying how this has given me more time to focus on myself and allow for the universe to dispel negativity and settle into positivity. If you react too quickly, you risk adding to the negativity even if that is not your intention.

Let that space do that work.

This platform has been out forever but I finally took the time to see what I could get out of it.

• Typeform - I used to think this platform was just for making surveys. I didn’t appreciate not being able to know how many questions I had to answer anytime I was sent a Typeform survey so I always felt Google Forms was better. This week changed that for me. Typeform is a powerful tool for all types of data collection/engagement. I highlighted Meiro a couple of weeks ago and this is more powerful. I will continue to see how we can leverage this, especially with the integrations and ability to embed.

There was something about taking it slow that I never understood. One because society and time will show you that there was always someone else on the side or 2, we simply don’t have the trust and patience it takes for these moments to flourish. I, myself have not been able to abide by the stages in the video below nor do I know anyone who has done this since college or just after graduating. We hardly get good examples of what happens when there is idle time in trying to get to know someone. It has become an excuse to have a whole roster. However, it is necessary nonetheless and highlighted in the video below.

The fast-paced life of working and struggling to manage a love life can easily influence the desire to want and skip steps out of a desire for more or simply not wanting to “waste time”. As a result, the first 5 stages in the video above usually get tangled making it hard to discern yourself and also if you truly have feelings or if is it just an infatuation.

Time is essential to evaluate this bond if you plan on developing a strong foundation and accomplishing greater goals. Working it out on the fly can work for some but for a lot, it may cause certain assumptions and handicaps to be created without level setting.

For me, I plan to give this more of a shot considering I do tend to overextend myself and it would be great to have a balance and rely on time showing sustained interest by both parties.

This week we are going to look at the problem we are trying to solve with the introduction of Skylark. At the root level, we have a focus on driving engagement. As you peel back the layers, you can equate today’s engagement for brands driven mostly by marketing specifically social media. Some businesses don’t have the capital to have a dedicated team or agency at hand to help with this. That is where Skylark comes in.

One, we mentioned the cost - Marketing campaigns can be expensive. 2 and 3 go hand in hand because brands lack the means or tools to activate their data. Your thriving business may be limited because you haven’t learned how to activate your existing data/community to create marketing collateral. Skylark is going to help with that and as we get started with our build soon, we will continue to share updates. Follow us on X to keep up with the progress.

Long Term Vision

Weekly Random Acts of Evolution

A lot of times in life, it is really easy for us to allow a single bad moment to capitalize our lives and send everything out of wack. For me, this happens too often in my head as I often feel like I am failing to get anywhere, especially in the world of relationships. The majority of my life’s projects are full of constant pivoting. This constant erasing of stability has made it difficult to appreciate the time it takes to build an actual bond but it is so easy for me to go deep down one rabbit hole and then immediately switch to another. Those short-term moments are part of a longer mission of my career but having that short-term mindset can rub off as I am always switching between so many things daily.

As a result, I have asked myself this week to start looking at things from a long-term mindset. Look at the big picture, the moments it took to get here, and the beauty of knowing that any pain you are feeling in that moment will pass. The key is the mindset and the power to keep moving as we discussed last week.

Below Gary Vee discusses this as well.

In summary, he highlights a similar point that we tend to get fixated on the moment and not see the progress that has been made from a bigger-picture standpoint. Multiply that progress by 2, 3, or 4, and just be excited to think about how much further you are going to grow in the future.

Here in Atlanta, the Marta public transportation system has been running a residency at the Fulton County Public Future Art Labs known as Artbound. The residency recipient this season is Sarah Lawrence. Below is the architecture of what they are planning.

This swatch was generated from a survey result asking how I felt and a set of color selections. Bundled together, this could create something like this which could then be monetized.

Skylark is going to focus on accomplishing this and look towards lifting engagement.

This week’s Aesthetics is another example of what AI experiences could look like. This is not from us at Skylark but rather I went to an AI-driven party this weekend hosted by the Fulton County Public Future Art Labs. Each station was AI-driven from the food selection to the created drinks. One of the stations was a photobooth print that uses your survey results on how you describe yourself to produce a result like the one below. I’m glad to see this in motion and validation of what we are building.

One of my favorite topics to discuss here has been the ability to keep moving. Oftentimes, I can get tested with the threat of letting something ruin my day but recently, I have come to the realization that all you can do is keep moving. Often, that has helped me unlock what may have been bothering me. The video shared below highlights how this works.

Basically, give yourself 24 hrs. Know that whatever you are feeling now will be better in 24 hrs. Then the next 24 hours will reveal themselves. One day at a time and staying present is how I have learned to keep moving. Victory stands beyond that hump and sitting still doesn’t get you there.

Imposter Syndrome

Weekly Random Acts of Evolution

After the 12 weeks of Lewis Hamilton’s Masterclass, we took a journey to developing a Winning Mindset. I learned a lot including the importance of loving yourself and how that can make you the best version of yourself to then be able to succeed. Lewis Hamilton also highlighted that despite being the 8-time world champion (that’s right, 8), there are still many moments of him having imposter syndrome. In those moments, he has to appreciate his journey more and remind himself of how far he has come.

This week, I want to further explore how to cope with imposter syndrome. It happens to the best of us and I think now more than ever, it can be difficult to cope when there is even more pressure to show up than ever before. The microwave society that we have evolved into has led to an atmosphere of “What have you done for me lately?” Even as a sports player, you could win the championship today and the next day, they are already doubting your ability to do it again.

There’s barely time taken to celebrate one another. This is something that impacts me as well. Every day, I feel like from I’m starting 0 with everything. There’s nothing wrong with starting fresh. But it discredits the progress and growth made the days before. Why do I think that everything I did before no longer matters?

This works well when trying to rebound from a lost moment but even then, could you be deflecting and burying it deeper?

To cope with this, I will often pause and take breaks to reflect and check in to confirm I am doing and that I am where I want to be,

Between Space and Time

This week, I want to introduce you to something new that I have been working on. For the next 12 weeks, this segment is going to be dedicated to the development of Skylark, a new app dedicated to driving engagement with Generative AI and Web 3 Experiences.

My business partner and I have been accepted into Immutable Founder Program with Starter Labs at the Atlanta Blockchain Center.

High Level, Skylark will have the following experience:

• Participating users who engage with these experiences will play a key role in the co-creation process of unique artifacts

This week I wanted to explore the launch of Base, an Ethereum L2 built by Coinbase

• Base

  • Yes, the look and feel are just like Opensea but this is bigger than just NFTs. Base is an L2 for launching Marketplaces, Dapps, De-fi projects without the high cost of building on Ethereum. During the launch, they are running an Onchain Summer series of different projects that have launched. One of which is Blackbird which I bought the NFT for. I like this concept for restaurant membership. Looking forward to testing it out next time I’m in New York

Monroe shares some tips below on how to cope with Imposter syndrome. As I mentioned in the intro, Imposter syndrome can have us all not feeling our full self-worth. I called Monroe and she has the following tips to share:

“Don’t be an imposter” - Monroe

“

1. Recognize and Acknowledge Your Feelings: The first step is to acknowledge that you're experiencing imposter syndrome. Recognize that these feelings are common and that many people struggle with similar doubts.

2. Open Communication: Share your feelings with your partner. Let them know that you've been struggling with imposter syndrome and that it's affecting your self-esteem and confidence. A supportive partner will listen and offer reassurance.

3. Focus on Self-Reflection: Take time to reflect on your achievements, qualities, and positive aspects of your relationship. Make a list of your accomplishments and remind yourself of the reasons your partner is with you.

4. Challenge Negative Thoughts: When negative thoughts related to imposter syndrome arise, challenge them with evidence of your accomplishments and positive qualities. Try to counteract these thoughts with more balanced and realistic perspectives.

5. Set Realistic Expectations: Understand that no one is perfect, and relationships have their ups and downs. It's natural to have moments of self-doubt, but it doesn't define your entire relationship.

6. Practice Self-Compassion: Treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding you'd offer to a friend. Don't be too hard on yourself for having these feelings. Remember that it's okay to have moments of vulnerability.

This week we wanted to talk about customer validation. As we are building an app, we are learning that our beloved idea may not directly solve our potential customer’s real problem.

Building an app can cost north of $10,000 and not having it sell can deflate all you thought you were solving.

Rather than doing that, why not do the customer validation? This gives you immediate confirmation from the market

In practice, this looks like getting a bunch of customers in a room and identifying the vision of what the app could be. From this, you can then create your MVP - simple validation of value exchange. Though it may transform it a bit, it will be more accepted.

Below are some additional benefits.

• Great customer validation allows your early adopters to feel like they helped bring the app to life

• Not only that, you can identify a good price for monetization by honing in on the ROI of solving their issues.

• That ability to monetize can also be immediate because of the validation

• Lastly, you are not wasting time and resources in the beginning on features that won’t be used or monetized immediately.

Overall, this is a critical part of the process. This is the next step for our app as well. Prove a hypothesis (w/ minimal tech) then raise funds to scale. This will interest investors, even more, to know that you did a lot with little.

As I am on my journey to build my app, I recently took a class where I learned about FlutterFlow, a no-code platform.

• FlutterFlow

  • Unlike other no-code platforms (Bubble, Webflow), FlutterFlow is built primarily for mobile app dev and can publish straight to the stores. Additionally, you are not restricted to the platform so you can download your code and get more in the weeds. I plan on doing a deep dive and I will share that as well

Tazuki is here with us today to share her story and how she passed the time while undergoing life-changing surgery. The Great Fires of Hawaii changed the landscape of everyone there. Rebuilding ushered in a new era of tech and industrialism hence the cyberpunk atmosphere. Luckily for Tazuki, her family were engineers of this new tech. While she was in the hospital, she would make Origami cranes. Today, she is here to share how that helped her cope.

I feel like it is really art because of the factor of Curation. Tech has always brought change to art. Starting with the pencil to now CAD programs.

What is the line between CAD programs and AI art?

This is the most important statement to me because what is art supposed to do as we continue to evolve? Should it not evolve or remain stagnant? Remaining stagnant may render it irrelevant if the conversation that was once simulated in one manner isn’t able to be interpreted in the mediums of the future. Below are some thoughts on the impact of AI to art.

• Three major impacts

  • Today, creative confidence usually dies young as people are made to believe that art won’t get them anywhere. The impact keeps older people who haven’t “made” it yet from trying to get in unless they take that leap of faith

  • It can be used for both outcome and process based

This week Opensea launched a new feature called Deals. This will allow people to facilitate P2P trades on Opensea. You may be thinking that is already possible by just going wallet to wallet but here are some benefits to this feature

Benefits

• Broader community - Leverage the OpenSea community to find the user you want to trade with and propose the trade. You can trade today but you would need to do a lot more digging and engaging over different platforms (ex. Twitter). Now you can engage the offer right from Opensea

• Ease of transfer - consider a membership NFT that is not moving on resale for the number you want but maybe someone has a NFT you want and you have a NFT they want. Simply trade+

All in all, though it is a small feature, it opens the door for different “deal” structures for sure!

Aesthetics of the week

Staying on the topic of Jay-z, Lupe Fiasco dropped a song this week which also happens to be one of the featured tracks this week. Though the song itself, “Rocafella Yall” has nothing to do with my art selection this week, the title did remain me of my favorite chain/logo in hip-hop. I have a project idea to incorporate this.

I wanted one growing up because they always made it seem like an award ceremony/coming-of-age moment to be a member of the Rocafella Chain Gang.

My project will incorporate this imagery and all proceeds will be to my chain!

Pistols on my album cover! Esco is back with Magic 2. Though it was anticipated, the timing was a surprise! He is here today to share why he decided to drop it with such short notice.

“I think the element of surprise added a whole new layer of excitement and engagement. It made the album feel like a gift, a moment of magic for my fans. They appreciated the spontaneity and felt like they were part of an exclusive experience. Plus, it allowed the music to speak for itself without any distractions.

It can be thrilling and liberating! As an artist, we're often bound by schedules, teasers, and promotions, which are all essential, of course. But with the surprise release, I got to focus solely on the creative aspect. It was like a breath of fresh air, and I could feel the raw emotion and energy flowing through the music.

My advice to other artists would be to plan it carefully, surround yourself with a trustworthy team, and make sure you have a strong connection with your fans. Building that anticipation and excitement is essential for a surprise release to be successful. But most importantly, let your creativity shine through, and have fun with the process!”

I have been doing some client work around Loyalty and Web 3 recently. Co-Create could fit into one of the main use cases I have been walking Brands for get started in Web 3.

• Start with an Airdrop/Product Identification - Identify a product from your existing catalog that would make for a great activation to attract the existing loyal/die-hard members or your community and couple a NFT airdrop with it.

• Use Email wallets w/ the BYOW option- This is where platforms like Co-Create or Magic come into the picture. Though it is strongly encouraged for customers to bring their own Web 3 (in true Degen fashion), adoption has been slow. Therefore, having an option that issues wallet behind the scene is great for seamless conversion

• Token Gate Secondary functionality - Now that customers have purchase the physical product to get the digital token, what additional benefits do they get? What can the token unlock? An exclusive shopping experience, access to a fashion show? It’s up to you.

• Post activation analytics - Understanding conversion throughout this entire activation gives validity to this new way of marketing and loyalty. It is best to identify some metrics that will then influence the next step for you and your community.

This week, Jay-z opened a new exhibit at the Brooklyn Public Library called “Book of Hov” Running from now until October 6th, the exhibit is sectioned into 8 parts reflecting on Jay’s career. I haven’t attended but will report back once I do.

• Stable Doodle

  • Simply draw a doodle with a prompt or set of keywords and Stable Diffusion will send you outputs of possible variations for your sketch.

Love is Patient. Such a obscure metaphor especially in today’s microwave society. Through the ups and down, what convinces couples to stay together. You either have it or you don’t. That could be seen as the definition of patience. Monroe is here to share her thoughts on that.

Staying the course with another Lupe Fiasco song this week but taking it back to his first album. “The Instrumental” is an amazing display of Lupe’s lyrical and story-telling skills. 17 yrs have past and it still great to run this track back. It’s crazy how much has changed though.

This week from Lewis Hamilton’s Masterclass on a “Winning Mindset” was focused on “How to exercise Self-Discipline”. The journey is progress compounded and without discipline, it is hard to grow.

Week 7- How to exercise Self-Discipline

• Learn how to stay on-course

• Build it up - Set goals and target

• Maintain balance

• Give yourself positive reinforcements

  • Reward Yourself

• Keep composure under pressure

  • Composure is key as it is easy to get bent out of shape and head down a slippery slope

  • How you start your day is key

• Conquer your temptations

  • Challenge yourself to fight the desire

• No one is perfect

  • Give yourself a break

• Control your emotions

  • Find a safe release

  • Learn to shift in and out of emotions

  • People's projections towards you are usually products of their own issues/trauma

Between Space and Time

Move over Twitter, Threads is here! This week, Meta launched their competitor to Twitter and they had 10 million users in the first 7 hours. Check out this review video below.

There are a couple of key points that may lead to Threads’ advantage. These include:

• Threads is a seamless transition from IG - You can argue that the transition was inflated because it is all in the Meta ecosystem. Still, nonetheless, this opens the door for definitely picking off users from Twitter. There are plenty of people I follow on IG but not on Twitter but now with Threads, my experience with those accounts are now able to extend into a “Twitter-Esque” experience

• Extend your audience - Coming off that first point, the ability to transition your audience seamlessly is also key. When even you post on Threads, you can share it with your story. For me, this creates an opportunity to bring your most engaged followers (those who follow your stories) into a separate conversation. To me, this is the best feature. If coupled with the ability to invite people to join your “community” on Threads, then that will be major as well

• Integrations - Over time this will interesting as well. Threads has support for ActivityPub which allows for apps to enable the ability to “lift activity and followers” as you create content or join new social networks. This ensures you are not starting from ground zero with engagement

• No Bots - Lastly, as mentioned in the video, Threads requires an IG account and manual initiation to activate therefore it has done a good job of keeping the bots out (at least for now.)

In the long run, I think there will be room for both as Twitter has heavily capitalized off being the platform to identify trending topics and “news”. For now, Elon does have his hands full as the biggest threat might be the casual users who will move with the pack.

Let’s see how this plays. Competition always brings out the best.

  • Offers a dashboard set of tools to perform various functions for creating artifacts/artwork

Takumi’s favorite rapper is Lupe Fiasco so we are glad to have him here today as Lupe recently released a new track “Chanel No.3”. The track title is a play on Channel 3 which was what the TV had to be set to in order to play video games. Takumi recently visited his mom’s house and saw all his old video games so he decided to share.

The characters and worlds that had once seemed so real and alive now appeared quaint and charming, their pixelated graphics evoking a warmth that no high-definition masterpiece could replicate. Two tracks this week. From the US to the UK and back, we have Avelino and Lupe Fiasco. Lupe’s track, Chanel No. 3, is recent of back-to-back releases in the last month. He reflects on the nostalgia of video games embodied through an AI video. In addition, we have Sin City from Avelino off my favorite album this week.

Between Space and Time

This week Sotheby’s announced the debut of their Generative Art Project. Powered the Art Block Engine, Sotheby’s looking to start its own curation of Generative Art drops centered around spotlighting and storytelling around each project.

Storytelling in Generative Art is an interesting idea for deriving thematic cohesion out of 0s and 1s since 1965.

How do you explain that given lines of code that output an image are considered “art” when no “art tools” were used in the process? On top of that, many times, the abstraction of the output is so random that it seems unintentional. This secondary point however introduces the opportunity for storytelling in my opinion.

The opportunity to curate - With an enormous amount of outcomes from the code, synergies can be made with the original artist to alter the code and identify outputs that gel under a theme. This is different from Generative AI art which is only prompt-driven without the ability to change the code.

I came across this artist a couple of weeks ago on IG and I love his toned-down yet bold use of color/highlights. Check out JMizu on Instagram.

This week we explore the world of Written NFTs.

• Mirror Writing NFTs

  • Another project launched on Optimism - Mirror is allowing users to create article-based NFTs. Complete with Cover Art, creators can tie in text-based content into the metadata of the NFT.

Gentei Kaijou

Tazuki, who is half-android, has always wanted to get into art but due to her machine identity, she was often criticized as not having the ability to have an “artistic” identity/relationship with the outcome. She struggled to share with others how what she produces doesn’t actually have an emotional evocation.

We brought her here to share that story today now that she feels a lot more comfortable today.

Between Space and Time

This week, MidJourney released v5.2 and it is time to zooooom out. Users can now add subsequent prompts to zoom out on created pieces. Similar to Dall-E’s Outpaint feature, MidJourney uses the context of the current image to build out what the surrounding area could look like. Check it out below.

The process is a little different from Dall-E. After upscaling your selected variant, simply click “Zoom out x1” or “Zoom out x2”. Try it out!!

Tidal Wave has produced records for US and UK Hip Hop artists. Listening to the two varieties, I have often asked myself how the differences have impacted each. The same goes for the moments I spend listening to Japanese Hip Hop. Often, I find that international Hip Hop just seems to have a deeper appreciation of the art. Tidal Wave is here to share his thoughts on that.

Heading back to the UK for a couple of tracks. 2023 has been kinda quiet for hip hop of my liking so I’ve decided to check back in on my UK bruvs after J Hus’ recently release with Drake. I included Dave as well whose album I revisted this week after first hearing it in 2020.
